Every-time I feel that I want to become an adventurer, I want to become a Scuba Diver, my dream is to become a Photographer, I wanna become a detective or a Rock Climber, or a Pilot or a traveler, or an Artist and the list goes on. We all feel alike. But the harsh reality is that we cannot become all of ’em at one go. One cannot become all that he has dreamt about. Surely there is no bar on your abilities to become all of these. But, there are limitations of time and human physics. It means that a scuba diver cannot easily become a Detective as well as a pilot in one life because he has limited time and his body and mind aren’t designed to adapt everything so quickly. He has to focus on one thing and then learn it, then practice it, and then he becomes a professional in it. Hence, a man can believe the impossible but cannot believe the improbable.
But, you know what, there is a thing, which I feel that, has the potential to fulfill your dream of becoming all of the listed and unlisted jobs. And that is to become a Writer. If you want to become this and that, so just become a writer. By becoming a writer one can become an engineer as well as a Rock climber at the same time. The logic behind this is that the mind has an immense power of imagination. Even though there are other professions which are having the same power such as an Artist, Actor, etc. But becoming a writer is the cheapest and easiest option. And it needs not to have a formal educational degree or something like competitive exams. You just need a pen, paper and a sense of imagination.
You must be thinking about the language, right? Well, don’t assume that only English is qualified for writing. You need at least one language in which you are at your best. Whatever language you choose, you should have a firm command on its vocabulary and grammar.
Remember that the mind’s capability of imagination is affected by the place where you are while imagining. Some poets go to the hills or a river stream to write a new poem. Some people prefer peaceful and scenic places like sea shores, long drives, etc. The mind works best with the scene in front of our eyes. So, the first step is to find that place where your imagination works best. Compile things afterwards, first of all take note of what comes to your mind immediately. Try to relate the scenery to the life of peoples. For example you will find that a poet relates the light of moon to the beauty of his love or relates an Ocean in describing various aspects of love and life. Try to make such relative imagination.
The first step here is to start writing a personal diary on daily basis. No matter what you write or how you write but there is always something to write. Even if you use a mobile app to write a diary, that’s good too. You may find a Diary App from your Mobile’s App Store like Google Play, Windows Store, etc. Well, I don’t mean that we all should become a professional writer but this is a very nice hobby. And for those having too many dreams they eventually realize that writing is the best option to follow all those dreams and become all that you wanted to become. Remember that, Ideas if given a structural form can become a discovery. And of-course the new India needs a discovery. And the power of youth is all that we have got here. Now, the days of freedom fighting are gone where the leaders used to write for the freedom after being put into jails. Today, we need a different power to unite the people, to reach global recognition and global heights. The need of the hour is to become a person which the country needs. Only fulfilling the basic needs of life is not our aim, we have to redefine the world with unity and talent and enthusiasm.
Sometimes I remember the speech of Jawaharlal Nehru on 30th January,1948 after the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi. He said “The light has gone out, I said, and yet I was wrong. For the light that shone in this country was no ordinary light. The light that has illumined this country for these many years will illumine this country for many more years, and a thousand years later, that light will be seen in this country and the world will see it and it will give solace to innumerable hearts. For that light represented something more than the immediate past, it represented the living, the eternal truths, reminding us of the right path, drawing us from error, taking this ancient country to freedom.”
